UCHD away-day 17/02/2011
The UCHD team shared a productive away-day on Thursday 27 January 2011.
After a brief review of the past year’s achievements we took the opportunity to reflect on what UCHD means to the individual members of the team. With just three minutes each to speak and using an image, short video, or piece of music, we presented what proved to be a diverse range of views.
The afternoon opened with Remi and Fazilatur sharing a couple of entertaining videos on the theme of empathy, illustrating how people have different perceptions according to their generation, experience and environment. You can watch the first of the two videos, Jeremy Rifkin on the ’empathic civilization’, here: http://www.ted.com/talks/jeremy_rifkin_on_the_empathic_civilization.html
The rest of the afternoon focused on future activity with discussions around the first stage of the Young People with Diabetes project. The team is busy developing tools to begin working with adolescent participants in the South Yorkshire area by early March. We’ll be adding project updates to the website as soon as they are available.
