MOMtech trials begin 10/11/2011

26 October 2011 – MOMtech was presented at the Engineering for Life (EFL) research café at the Showroom cinema in Sheffield.

The project is now at a point where the software is working and the diary element the midwives will use with the expectant mothers is being devised. Due to the ethical issues related to working with pregnant women it has been decided that it is not possible to get feedback on the system with this group of women. It would be unfair to offer support in a trial but not follow it through to the end of their pregnancy.

To overcome this, the community midwives who have been involved in the workshops so far will register on the system and start sending themselves messages to trial the system.
