Design Research Conference, Spokane, Washington 27/10/2010
Thursday, October 7th 2010. Matt and Andy delivered a presentation to the Design Research Conference in Spokane, Washington. The conference was focusing on the built environment, and how design can affect the atmosphere for healthcare delivery. The presentation was about BOSOP, specifically looking at the impact of wayfinding, and the road layout around the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
The presentation was delivered via webcam to approximately 150 delegates; the conference attracts a wide audience from students, designers and researchers, mostly focussing on Architecture and related design disciplines. Matt and Andy’s presentation was the first of the day, being immediately followed by their colleague from Sheffield Hallam University, discussing a project to redesign bathroom furniture.
The presentation was a success, not solely from the project’s perspective but also from a technical perspective, opening up the possibility for future communication in a similar fashion.
